Each holiday season, Student Council members at Portsmouth High School organize to help meet the needs of fellow classmates whose families are experiencing hardship. All money generated from this event helps to sustain the Clipper Family Fund, which is overseen by members of the PHS Guidance and Health Service Departments. They collaborate to identify PHS students and families in need.
This powerful partnership allows our school community to meet a range of needs such as gift cards for shoes, coats, groceries, and other assistance to make sure everyone in our school family receives care and dignity. Last year, 65 PHS families were provided meaningful help. Funds were also used for academic scholarships for summer learning opportunities. |
